Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments of resident complaints and initiate necessary actions, consulting with supervisors when required.
- Efficiently admit and transfer residents between units or external sources, ensuring consistent care delivery.
- Deliver medication, both oral and injectable, in line with established facility protocols and Florida regulations.
- Monitor patients for potential side effects or adverse reactions to medication and promptly report these findings to assigned supervisors or arrange additional evaluation and treatment.
- Promote a smooth transition of care by preparing necessary documentation for consultations within the facility and external appointments.
- Facilitate resident appointment scheduling with unit staff to ensure timely medication administration and convenient resident movement.
- Respond promptly to emergencies requiring medical or psychiatric intervention, acting within designated scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida laws, and notify supervisors for further assistance if needed.
- Accurately document incidents, submitting them in a timely manner according to facility guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of resident care, updating these files as per facility specifications.
- Empower residents with knowledge about their rights and advocacy issues, strictly adhering to facility policies while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
