The company focuses primarily on antiviral drugs used in the treatment of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and influenza, including Harvoni and Sovaldi.
Job Description:
- The client has an opportunity for an industry experienced B.S./M.S. (plus 10 years) level scientist in our Cell Line Development (CLD) group at our Foster City campus facility.
- We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to design and execute experiments to support targeted integration and cell line development for our rapidly growing biologics pipeline.
- The successful candidate will also contribute to the overall strategy of new technology development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficiency with CHO cell culture.
- Ability to manage high-throughput cell culture screens (?5,000 clonal cell lines simultaneously)..
- Experience with single cell cloning, hitpick, and scale-up of suspension cell lines.
- Registration of cell lines in the client’s electronic notebook and documentation of cell growth metrics.
- The role with 100% in-lab focus for cell culture execution.
- Willing to learn hands-on laboratory operations such as molecular biology, shake flask, bench scale bioreactor and novel culture platforms.
- Contribute to written technical reports, Regulatory filing support, present in group meetings, and work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- B.S/M.S. and 10 years, Ph.D. and 0-2 years of experience in a relevant scientific discipline (biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering).
- Excellent communication, technical report writing, and presentation skills and aptitude for creative problem solving.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and adhere to timelines.
- Ability to think critically and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
