Installation Technician Job Description
It’s the installation technician’s job to oversee the installation of various types of equipment including fiber, Cat6, conduit, etc. They figure out the best process for the installation to be made, troubleshoot the process and install the equipment per design.
To perform well in this role, an employee needs to be technically skilled and capable of working through complex tasks with minimal supervision. They should be able to perform cable management, interpret designs, and install a wide variety of devices and equipment without having to ask for assistance.
We’re searching for talented installation technicians to add to our growing team. In this position, it will be your job to install equipment in clients’ homes, places of business and in the elements. To do that, you’ll need to be technically skilled and capable of using a wide variety of hand tools. You will need to troubleshoot existing installations, read designs, follow directions and install a variety of equipment and wiring. You will also be asked to test connections and document your work.

Installation Technician Responsibilities:
- Drive to job sites
- Interact with team members
- Troubleshoot existing infrastructure and repair or replace malfunctioning parts
- Carry up to 50 lbs
- Ensure that cables are managed properly and out of the way
- Test connections to ensure they work properly
- Clean up after yourself once the job is complete
Installation Technician Requirements: * Previous experience in a similar role
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Solid technical skillset
- Reliable transportation
- Ownership of basic hand tools
- Ability to travel if necessary
- Excellent customer service skills
- Can pass a background check
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
