JOB SUMMARY
The Solutions Architect is responsible for building rapport with existing and prospective clients to become their trusted technology provider, thereby building and maintaining a sales pipeline and steady flow of sales. This position is also responsible for learning and understanding the business needs of current and prospective clients while translating those needs into technical offerings and solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify new sales opportunities and meet with prospective clients as needed with sales staff.
- Understand clients’ networks and systems to analyze possible solutions.
- Prepare quotes and proposals with required due diligence.
- Provide high-level and detailed consultative solutions and technical sales support.
- Complete after-the-sale paperwork.
- Collaborate with team members to define, analyze, design and deliver appropriate technical solutions to meet clients’ business and financial objectives.
- Follow up with existing clients and prospects and respond to questions and concerns.
- Provide input towards the ongoing development of the network infrastructure for delivery of data, voice and multimedia services.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and products/services offered by competitors.
- Maintain technical certifications for primary product vendors.
- Participate in team meetings and training.
- Attend events, trade shows, conferences and other company-sponsored events as needed.
- Assist other sales team members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of the various technologies used by businesses and how they impact a company’s bottom line.
- Understanding of various technologies, solutions and architectures.
- Knowledge and practical application of effective sales techniques.
- Familiarity with common business metrics that drive business success.
- Understanding of telecommunications and associated terminology.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office products and CRM/client communication systems.
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in properly computing pricing margins and mark-ups.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information using a consultative approach.
- Ability to identify and analyze business requirements to craft technical solutions that meet clients’ needs.

- Ability to assist with sales’ quarterly and annual goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Solutions Architect interacts frequently with current and potential clients and vendors as part of sales process and interacts frequently with internal team members to coordinate client success.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Four-year degree or equivalent combined education and work experience in telecommunications preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in telecommunications support systems design or deployment preferred.
- Previous sales experience in technology is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be covered under company insurance policy is required.

Working Conditions
Normal working conditions in an office environment absent extreme factors. Evening and weekend work may be required to meet work demands. Travel is required to meet with prospective and existing clients and to attend trade shows or other events. May experience inclement weather while travelling.
