Telecon is looking for an energetic and career minded individual to take on the role of OSP Field Inspector based out of Burlington, Washington.
The OSP Field Inspector conducts the on-site inspections of civil underground utilities to ensure the proposed work will meet the standards of our client’s requirements. The Inspector collaborates with Project Managers to identify and clear roadblocks, to ensure that projects are completed on time and in accordance with the client and city’s quality expectations. The Inspector will validate all related discrepancies while onsite, for the structural integrity of the client’s plant (aerial/Underground). The Inspector will be working with the clients and other stakeholders, and will be required to represent Telecon, as well as our client, in a professional manner.

The Inspector will be working with the clients and other stakeholders, and will be required to represent Telecon, as well as our client, in a professional manner.
You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Provide full time inspection on client projects
- Monitor and ensure the safety of yourself, the client, and the public, in accordance with Telecon’s and the client’s safety standards, as well as government regulations
- Report any discrepancies between the design drawings and onsite verification
- Communicate daily with Inspection Coordinator pertaining to any field related issues
- May required to do site visits with client Project Manager and Outside Plant Managers for newly constructed or proposed underground plants.
- Oversee Sub-contractors active and QC completed projects
- Site walks with city inspector and client inspector/Project Manager
- Report sub-contractor footage daily
- Submit request for overages and out of scope changes to designs
- Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering/Technology diploma is preferred
- Experience: 2 – 3 years with the following:
- Utility inspection/construction experience in telecommunication, hydro or CATV environments
- Placing of underground structure, conduits, precast manholes and GLB’s
- Familiarity with permits standards
- Experience in outside plant civil construction, along with familiarity of Utility Underground Communication systems.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Strong organization skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and focus on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with an upbeat attitude
- Dynamic, good communication skills and able to maintain excellent relations with peers, customers and internal resources
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- A committed team player
- Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work within tight time frames
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and the ability and willingness to travel across to projects across Washington state.
- Willing to work during construction operations that may occur at night and possibly overnight, weekends, and out of town.
