Teledyne FLIR Integrated Detection Systems is the leading provider of mobile and/or fixed integrated advanced detection and surveillance systems for federal, state, and local agencies. We are now hiring professional Field Service/Support Technicians to facilitate growth in this market and ensure our continued success in meeting customer requirements, specifically providing support for the Department of Defense (DoD). In this position, you will be required to respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, uninstall and install system components, perform routine maintenance, and provide operator training on mobile detection systems. The official work location is in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Seeking highly skilled and experienced Field Service Support Technician(s) with expertise in Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radiation (CBRN) detection. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of CBRN related technologies and Department of Defense (DoD) processes, procedures and regulations. This role involves providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting CBRN detection systems mounted on mobile platforms, in various field environments. FSSTs are responsible for the inspection, evaluation, diagnosis, maintenance, repair and/or upgrade of advanced detection and surveillance systems to include the uninstallation and installation of company product(s). Position includes various aspects of product field support, to include electrical, mechanical, software and hardware maintenance and repair. FSSTs will perform system and sub-system testing to proactively identify issues that may potentially affect deployment of the system and provide engineers with information necessary in developing solutions to identified issues.
Those selected for the positions must be able to travel for a period up to 60-days to receive mandatory training. Training includes original equipment manufacturer training, conveyance operator training, and system assembly training. In addition, FSSTs must complete mandatory DoD training requirements prior to gaining access to DoD facilities. Once training is completed, FSSTs will return to the permanent duty location in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to provide support for a long-term project. Scope of work breakdown is estimated to be 100% Customer Relations – 60% CBRN, 20% electrical, 10% mechanical, 5% software and 5% hardware.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in CBRN detection and related technologies (MOS qualification as a 74D is a plus).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense processes, procedures and regulations.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Provide on-site technical support and maintenance for CBRN mobile detection systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CBRN equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CBRN systems.
- Train and assist end-users in the proper operation and maintenance of CBRN equipment.
- Maintain compliance with DoD processes and regulations.
- Document and report service activities, including maintenance and repair logs.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless support operations.

- Knowledge of sUAS operations.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adapt to irregular work hours – report for work with little advance notice.
- Travel to various field locations as required.
- Take after hour calls and provide technical guidance.
- Ability to climb ladders, work on elevated platforms.
- Familiarity with General Dynamics Land Systems Stryker vehicle
- Lift heavy parts (55 lbs.), and work in tight compartments.
