What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Optics Production Engineer position at Teledyne FLIR?
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Optical or Mechanical Engineering and 1-5 years of related mechanical or optics engineering experience. LEAN training/certification is a plus.
Strong demonstrated experience in continual process improvements focused on improving product quality, production effectiveness, and cost reduction is essential. Knowledge of various software programs including Solidworks, MasterCAM, and MS Office Suite is preferred.
First-hand knowledge of all major fabrication methods such as diamond turning, conventional grinding and polishing, CNC grinding and polishing is highly desirable. Experience with metrology associated with the manufacture of spherical, aspheric, flat, and beam-splitter type of component designs made from glass, IR crystals, metals, and dielectrics is also preferred.
