About the Role - This role is onsite at Teledyne FLIR's facility in Billerica, MA. This is not a remote role.
Responsibilities -
- Directs product conceptualization, design, and verification for infrared zoom lens development.
- Allocates work within team and sets milestones for concurrent development projects.
- Communicates effectively and foster a collaborative environment to ensure that all parties are working towards a common goal.
- Performs detailed design work on projects as needed.
- Functions as technical interface with key customers.
- Manages team of 6-8 engineers, providing performance feedback and coaching.
- Some travel required.
Qualifications -
- 15 years of relevant experience working on technology product development and managing technical teams.
- Mastery of either optical design or mechanical design, with some lens development experience.
- Proven experience managing teams of engineers in technology-based company.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, programs, customers, and/or direct line management in a product development environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, particularly with highly technical content.
- Efficacy in managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university.
