We’re looking for a highly motivated Technology Transaction Counsel to join our Legal team. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements and contracts with OEM partners, content providers, and other stakeholders to support Telenav’s navigation and in-car software initiatives.
- Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel on a variety of issues, including compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory matters related to software and technology.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, engineering, and other internal teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business strategies and product offerings.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with proposed transactions and business initiatives.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research to support business decisions and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly regarding data privacy, data security, open-source licensing, and export compliance.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects, legal research, and provide ad hoc support for the Legal team as needed.
Experience and Skills
- Legal Experience: 3-8 years of legal experience, focusing on OEM licensing and technology transactions. Experience working with or for automotive OEMs is preferred. Familiarity with data security, data privacy laws, open-source licensing, and export compliance regulations is highly desirable.
- Educational Background: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Licensure: Active California bar membership or qualification as California Registered In-House Counsel.
- Communication Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across departments.
**Compensation**
The base salary range for this role is $169,903 - $191,890. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
