Univision is seeking a talented Ingest Operator based in Miami, proficient in Avid PAM/MAM and transcoder systems, detail-oriented, strong communication skills, and be tech-savvy. This individual’s focus would include, for processing all tape and file-based ingest requests from Univision Networks, Sports, Promo and Production units, with a strong emphasis on quality control. The Ingest Operator should have a working knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Interplay, Avid Capture, Telestream products and video routing systems. He/she should have a solid understanding of broadcast video resolutions, aspect ratios, digital file formats, and video CODECs. The Ingest Operator works closely with Network Services Coordinator, Media Managers and Engineering to maintain the quality and media specifications for long term usage of all digital assets. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, and a collaborator, willing to learn and share ideas. Must be flexible on the schedule, be willing to work nights and weekends as well as holidays.

- Analyze and ingest various media assets into large Avid Interplay /Nexis servers from a wide variety of digital and analog sources using a variety of tools.
- Search for and retrieve content in physical media or file-based systems.
- Ingest content to ISIS server from tape and digital media
- Meticulously label ingested material per required standards, following naming conventions
- Placing files in correct storage pools
- Output content to removable media when requested
- Operate standards converters when required
- Operate scan converters when required
- Quality control checks of content as required
- Work to help clients with questions about media ingest, placement of files, etc.
- Respond quickly and professionally to all Ingest requests
- Work with the network assignment grids to schedule regular ingests for Edits and broadcast
- The ability to be a front-line resource for trouble shooting issues and resolving problems.
- Solid experience with Vantage, Signiant, Aspera, and FTP delivery
- Solid knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Interplay, Avid Capture, and video routing systems.
- Previous experience, preferably 3 years, in a production environment for television or an on-air broadcast operations area.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (optional).
- Expert knowledge of Avid, Telestream system, software, backup systems and upgrades.
- College degree in television or communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent understanding of digital terminology and platforms.
- Work with multiple codecs, test equipment, computers, and non-linear edit equipment.
- Strong team skills. Listening, initiative and follow through.
- Must have ability to create and tell a story through editing techniques.
- Good understanding of digital terminology.
- Adept computer PC skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business non-editing applications.
