About The Role & Team
The Local Operations Team at TelevisaUnivision in Houston, TX is seeking a talented Technical Director to work in TelevisaUnivision’s National Weather Center. The successful candidate will direct live weather, news briefs and recorded weather segments for our local stations across the country. This person will work closely with our meteorologists in creating necessary elements for live or taped programming.

This individual must be a strategic and creative thinker, a self-starter, and a collaborator willing to learn and share ideas. You are proficient in all aspects of Sony ELC automation. This includes creating/editing templates and structuring a show within INews.

Your Day-day
- Directing and recording multimarket weather segments.
- Oversee completion and distribution of weather elements
- Perform quality checks and input of all programming elements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of specialized training in the professional field
- Minimum of 2 years major market or 3 years small market in similar capacity of job responsibilities
- Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of Sony ELC automation, Microsoft Office and I-News newsroom systems
- Basic editing knowledge with Avid Media Composer
- Knowledge of control room operation equipment including teleprompter, studio cameras and audio board
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to work from office in Houston, TX
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, and sit for up to (8) hours
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (approximately 25 lbs.)
