Responsibilities
- RF System Design: Design and develop RF systems and components, including transmitters, receivers, antennas, and amplifiers, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- RF Testing and Optimization: Conduct comprehensive testing, analysis, and optimization of RF systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance meet or exceed requirements.
- Spectrum Analysis: Perform spectrum analysis and interference mitigation to identify and resolve potential issues affecting RF system performance.
- RF Simulation and Modeling: Utilize RF simulation and modeling software tools to predict system behavior, analyze performance parameters, and optimize designs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and design specifications to stakeholders and project teams.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of RF components into overall system architecture.
- Research and Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in RF engineering, and contribute to ongoing research and development initiatives to enhance product offerings and maintain competitive advantage.
- This position uploads to ATOLL, encompassing data scrubbing and re-push, Unity updates, Magenta Built updates, and ensuring data integrity.
- Additionally, it involves generating status reports, attending vendor meetings for updates on builds, and conducting iBwave design reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF engineering or a closely related field, with a demonstrated track record of success in designing and optimizing RF systems and components.
- Prior experience with T-Mobile tools and systems preferred.
- Priority soft skills A quick learner with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in RF simulation and modeling software tools (e.g., ADS, CST Microwave Studio, HFSS) and familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators).
- Strong understanding of RF principles, antenna theory, modulation techniques, and wireless communication protocols (e.g., GSM, CDMA, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth).
- Experience with PCB layout and RF circuit design, including familiarity with RF PCB design best practices and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex RF issues and propose effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently, with a strong commitment to achieving project objectives and meeting deadlines.
- Solid understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory.
- Experience with various drive test units. Previous experience with FCC and FAA filings and zoning meetings are preferable.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills. UNIX, Oracle DB, Excel macros and SQL programming a plus.
- Moderate MapInfo skills Driving record is within company compliance Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure.
