What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Services Supervisor-Intake position at Teller County?
Teller County's Department of Human Services is looking for an experienced Human Services Supervisor - Intake to provide leadership, coordination, and consultation in planning and delivery of services for a unit / section that provides intake child welfare services, prevention services, and programs, including Youth in Conflict, Child Protection, Back up for Foster Home and Adoption services; position will be responsible for supervising 5-7 personnel.
What You'll Do :
1) Plan, organize, implement and oversee work in assigned programs and functions.
2) Organize work of assigned staff to ensure coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness in handling caseload; assign specific duties according to staff knowledge and skill; provide supervision and consultation in accomplishing tasks; provide training; provide written and verbal instructions to staff to explain policies and procedures to facilitate quality professional practices.
3) Develop systematic methods of implementing programming, including controls and monitoring performance; meet with staff and team to evaluate performance.
4) Schedule staff; conduct individual and group conferences to establish and monitor guidelines; establish Intake unit and program objectives in conjunction with the Ongoing unit.
5) Provide fiscal and program analysis; monitor staff reports and monthly billing / program reports.
6) Determine resources required to achieve goals and priorities; interview and participate in the selection of employees for unit and agency.
7) Prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
8) Collaborate with other agencies and the community as representative of the Department to coordinate programs to develop joint projects, implement more effective and efficient services and provide training and workshops.
10) Complete annual performance rating and develop individual performance goals and evaluate progress periodically.
11) Plan, arrange and schedule mandatory annual and other training.
12) Responsible for participation in Judicial District IV meetings and other county / regional and state meetings.
13) Participate in monthly Utilization Review Committee.
14) Resolve concerns and complaints from staff, clients, agencies and / or State Complaint office.
15) Act as interstate compact liaison for Teller County.
16) Participate in inter-agency committees as required.
17) Attend court and testify as needed.
Requirements
What You'll Bring :
- Bachelors degree in social or behavioral science, Masters preferred
- Five (5) years' experience providing social services, including three (3) years' experience at or above Social Caseworker III level
- Two (2) years' experience supervising human services staff
- Experience with human behavior, grieving, loss, abnormal behavior, substance abuse, child abuse and domestic violence
- Understanding of statutes and regulations including Children's Code and rules and regulations pertaining to adult and child welfare
Compensation and Benefits :
Salary range : $2,947 - $3,094 (semi-monthly)
Status : Full-time, Non-Exempt
