The Pennsylvania Transit Database (PennTD) is a greenfield web application being built for PennDOT's Bureau of Public Transit to replace and enhance a legacy system using the latest .NET and Angular technologies for deployment to the Azure cloud. The application will allow easier communication between PennDOT, the Federal Department of Transit, and public transit agencies within Pennsylvania while enhancing lines of business and looking forward to future changes and systems enhancements. Prospective initial deployment of the application is March 2025 with additional deployments scheduled quarterly.
Candidates will work under the direction of the project's Technical Lead and Application Architect to write, test, and document code to implement system features and enhancements.

Work hours are Monday Friday excluding state holidays with flexible schedules covering 7 : 00 AM 6 : 00 PM with an hour for lunch for a maximum of 8 hours / day and 40 hours / week. The contract assumes an additional 80 hours of unpaid leave in addition to the above per state fiscal year.Work location is majority remote; however, selected candidates will be required to report IN PERSON for an interview at PennDOT's offices at 400 North Street, 5th floor, Harrisburg PA. Engaged candidates will also need to report IN PERSON to pick up equipment as part of onboarding and may be required to report for occasional in-person meetings or training.Selected candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization done at vendor expense prior to engagement.On-site work location is a secured floor.The agency does not provide parking.
