Shift/Schedule: 21 - 28 hours/week
Tellurian is looking for a dependable and motivated individual to work as crisis stabilization worker at our Willy Street Permanent Supportive Housing program to provide services to adults who are in immediate crisis but not in need of hospitalization.
Position Summary
The Crisis Stabilizer is responsible for maintaining a presence at our Willy Street location and providing security to the building by monitoring access to the building during evening hours. They serve as a point of contact for building residents, direct clients to appropriate personnel, distribute information, respond to resident queries and complaints in a trauma-informed manner, investigate disturbances, respond to emergency situations, and complete the appropriate documentation.
This position will also meet one-on-one with residents at the SRO for case management and service coordination as well as help with providing individualized and intensive support, including goal setting and assistance with enrolling in appropriate benefits and services.
The hours for this position are flexible/rotating. Candidates must have availability for evening, weekend, and overnight hours.
Essential Functions
- Monitors the condition of Tellurian facilities and assists with requests for maintenance and supply orders.
- Provides direct services to guests, including assessing individual needs, referring clients to appropriate services in the community, and providing education and support.
- Provides individualized and intensive support, including goal setting and assistance with enrolling in appropriate benefits and services.
- Provides Crisis Stabilization services to individuals in crisis resulting from mental health symptoms or alcohol or drug abuse.
- Reads Tellurian staff documents each shift, including logs, incident reports, and client files and contributes when necessary. Maintains case notes on residents.
- Assists residents in resolving conflicts. Develops rapport with residents based on mutual respect and utilizing active listening skills.
- Monitors the behavior of residents and takes steps to stop undesirable behaviors. Maintains order and calls for help as appropriate. Reports incidents accurately and objectively.
- Enforces all Tellurian policies, procedures, and rules.
- Provide direct client care and supervises clients’ daily living skills in a safe, therapeutic environment
- Provides socialization within hours and in community
- Update EHR systems to reflect completed documentation and status updates.
- Acts as a liaison to hospitals , law enforcement, client families, and any other agencies/organizations necessary
- Works closely with the case management team.
- Provide regular updates to the program supervisor.
- Meet with residents to monitor symptom management, medication monitoring, and housing stabilization.
- Provide appropriate referrals for community resources, benefit coordination, and psychiatric care.
- Understands and utilizes the established supervisory structure to communicate needs, ask questions (especially about ethics, boundaries, and confidentiality), mention concerns, etc.
- Understands their role and fully participate as an integral part of the professional recovery team.
- Report all intended, serious harm to self or others immediately to the appropriate person.
- Knows state and federal confidentiality standards, including directives from their own agency.
- Maintain the utmost confidence concerning all verbal and written information, following all HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with two years related experience and /or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- One year of crisis stabilization training or experience.
- Must be proficient in MS Office and ability to enter data into billing and tracking systems.
- Desire to work with a diverse population of individuals with different strengths and barriers. Sincere respect for individuals experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness.
