What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health Safety Security Manager position at Tellus Equipment?
The Environmental Health Safety Security Manager is responsible to lead and manage employee health and safety, DOT Compliance, facility environmental processes, and security within Tellus Stores, Sales, and Service locations.
- Responsible for implementing and managing Behavior-Based Safety programs, Regulatory training, environmental waste reduction and EHSS Program Management to maintain and enhance Tellus EHSS Management System.
- Coordinate with local team and functional management, including HR, to manage injured workers including return to work programs.
- Responsible for ensuring effective implementation of site Utilities Management Programs & accurate EHSS Metrics reporting. Establish, conduct, and / or respond to safety and health assessments / analyses in facilities (e.g., medical surveillance, worker exposure, WC assessment, enforcing drug / alcohol testing protocol) to minimize health and safety risks. Lead the implementation of the Tellus waste / water quality and asbestos, strategy including review and approval of suppliers and design firms, compliance tracking and review / approval of designs. Develop implementation strategies, implement, evaluate and / or certify effective implementation of the Tellus EHSS Systems. Conduct risk assessments by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk (e.g., environmental, safety, regulatory, service feasibility and quality) and creating contingency plans. Prepare for store emergency situations at sites by establishing medical response program and emergency response organization including management of injured workers.
- Ensure provision of timely EHSS awareness and compliance training programs as appropriate to all levels of operations and management.
- Conduct training for managers and associates concerning fraud detection, crime prevention and theft audits.
- Advise leadership by identifying critical security issues and recommending risk-reduction solutions.
- Support local interaction and coverage of security service providers, physical and electronic.
- Ensure programs meet all Federal, State, and local regulatory and licensing requirements and Tellus policy requirements and includes assessed site EHSS risks and management of compliance calendars and actions.
- Conduct the investigation of incidents involving internal / external fraud, theft, and malicious business activity associated with the company and its associates.
- Monitor accident / incident reporting process accuracy and timeliness and track data integrity to ensure Tellus leadership has the most precise up to date safety data.
- During times of serious incident, serve as a site member of the crisis management team by directing efforts when requested, offering recommendations, interpreting regulations, and completing communication, including government regulators or agencies.
