Job Title : Data Quality Assurance Analyst
Location : Phoenix, AZ Hybrid
Duration : 3-6 months
Job Description :
The Data Quality Assurance Analyst candidate will work closely with product owners, developers and project managers to define and prioritize testing data requirements.
The candidate will add value to the team by validating the data quality, data accuracy, and data integrity by testing various reports and the data sets requested by business users.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work closely with the Business Analyst in gathering requirements to understand and identify business needs and the objectives related to the required data elements.
Perform analysis on the data requirements and clarify any questions with business stakeholders to clarify the data requirements.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
Validate reports to ensure data quality, data accuracy, and data consistency objectives are met.
Create SQL scripts to build data sets based on the requirements to validate data against developed reports checking for discrepancies, data inconsistencies and counts.
Identify and communicate any data related issues using established agency processes.
Support business users during User Acceptance Testing; ability to answer or investigate any questions or issues raised.
Design and maintain automated test scripts using Microsoft technologies.
Qualifications Required :
Education Required : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience Required : 5 years of relevant QA Data Analyst / ETL testing / Data quality testing.
Advanced level of SQL Server database query language (TSQL).
Experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing.
Basic understanding of programming.
Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to effectively collaborate with developers and business experts.
Ability to work as part of a self-directed team, in which tasks are determined daily in coordination with co-workers, rather than being assigned.
Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment.
Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to respectfully question ideas and share a point of view with others in support of the business requirements and needs.
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of employees ranging from entry level to senior leadership.
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly.
Proven strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Qualifications Preferred :
Experience in the education industry is preferred.
Experience working on an Agile / Scrum team preferred.
Experience with TFS, MTM and MS Test is preferred.

Must Have :
Local to Phoenix, AZ must be able to work on-site up to five days per week as business needs require.
5 years of experience in QA Data Analysis, ETL testing, and data quality testing.
Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL) to validate and manipulate data.
Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on data validation, accuracy, and integrity checks.
Design and maintain automated test scripts using Microsoft technologies
Experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing.
Familiarity with test planning, execution, and documentation.
Advanced SQL querying and scripting for data validation.
Experience working with Microsoft technologies for test automation.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with business analysts, developers, and project managers.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a self-directed, collaborative team.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Must have or be willing to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
Nice to Have :
Prior experience in the education industry.
Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
Familiarity with TFS, MTM, and MS Test for testing and project management.
Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, or Java).
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI reporting tools.

Ability to challenge requirements and provide recommendations based on data insights.
Additional Information :
Remote work is not an option for this role.
Security Clearance : A Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC) is required due to the nature of the data being handled.
