Social Worker II

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in our community. This role involves providing support, guidance, and resources to clients facing various challenges, including mental health issues, addiction, and social injustices. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

Duties

• Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized service plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies or critical situations.
• Facilitate access to community resources, including Section 8 housing assistance and workforce development programs.
• Offer counseling services in areas such as addiction recovery, child welfare, and mental health.
• Mentor and supervise interns or junior staff members to enhance their professional development.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral changes in clients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and case management records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure holistic support for clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work or a related field is required; licensure preferred.
• Experience in crisis management and intervention strategies is essential.
• Knowledge of child welfare policies and practices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques is a plus.
• Strong mentoring and supervising skills to guide less experienced staff effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in social work.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $27.15 - $28.43 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
