Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs of clients and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide counseling and support to clients using techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and access to necessary services within the community.
- Stay informed about clinical research and best practices in social work to enhance service delivery.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to improve skills related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience
- A degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and healthcare systems is advantageous.
- Proven ability to provide patient care in a compassionate and effective manner.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for successful client interactions.
- Previous experience in clinical settings or social work environments is a plus.
