What You’ll Do
The Senior Software Engineer uses solid knowledge and experience to contribute to the design and implementation of software applications, software infrastructure, or algorithms to our robotic platform. As a key contributor to the software team, this position develops and tests robust, reliable and scalable software infrastructure. This position works as a member of a cross functional team to create software solutions based on clinical and user requirements.
- Design and implement software infrastructure, and algorithms for a complex robotic system.
- Work with software peers and other engineers (clinical, systems, mechanical, electrical) as part of a focused cross-functional team developing infrastructure for a medical application.
- Understand user needs, clinical needs & customer input requirements to drive software development and contribute to the design of architectures and workflows for successful treatment.
- Facilitate design discussions and code reviews, contributing to testing in simulation environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field and minimum 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Strong background in object-oriented programming, and software architecture with design patterns.
- Proficiency with C programming and multi-threaded applications.
- Understanding of event driven architectures and state-machine based designs.
- Experience with logging and inter-process communication.
- Experience with real-time software applications.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience developing software for safety-critical applications.
- Experience with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Salary Range: $152,000 – 164,000 annually
