Technician (Appliance Delivery Assistant)

Position: Assistant to Driver and Appliance Installer

Job Summary

Temco Logistics is looking to expand our delivery team with a dedicated and supportive Assistant to our Driver and Appliance Installers. This role is designed to assist in the delivery and installation of household appliances. The successful candidate will help in navigating routes, handling appliances, and providing exemplary customer service alongside our skilled drivers and installers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe operation of a 26 ft box truck alongside the primary driver, focusing on navigation and route efficiency.
• Help load, secure, unload, and install various household appliances under the guidance of the main installer.
• Utilize lifting equipment and techniques to safely move heavy items without damage.
• Support the primary installer with tools and materials necessary for installation tasks.
• Interact professionally with customers, aiding in customer service to ensure satisfaction with delivery and installation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery truck and equipment.
• Participate in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any discrepancies or issues.
• Follow all company safety standards to ensure a secure working environment.
• Respond to and support the resolution of on-site installation challenges.
• Assist in maintaining accurate delivery and installation documentation through handheld devices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications for appliance installation a plus.
• Experience or strong interest in logistics, delivery services, or appliance installation.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy items (up to 100 lbs.) and stand for prolonged periods.
• Excellent team collaboration skills, able to effectively support and communicate with the main driver and installation technician.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to providing high levels of customer service.
• Able to follow instructions and quickly adapt to changing situations on the job.
• Prior experience in a support role within delivery or installation services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo training in appliance installation and safety protocols.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings, including background checks.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
