Dispatcher
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Dispatcher has a key leadership role supervising driver personnel. This includes daily scheduling and dispatching of drivers or services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Communicate with customers, supervisors, or other personnel to address requests for service or equipment, answer questions, or resolve problems.
- Review orders, production schedules, or shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations.
- Determine types or amounts of equipment and personnel required according to workload.
- Plan daily work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations or production goals.
- Relay work assignments to drivers, supervisors, and maintenance crew, using telephone, two-way radio, fax machines, email or drafted schedule.
- Advise driver personnel about traffic problems and provide them with resources for obtaining directions.
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and all other dispatch information.
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
- Maintain or verify records of time, materials, expenditures, or crew activities.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain and distribute a vacation log and a quarterly weekend coverage schedule.
- Responsible for scheduling to accommodate training and ensuring drivers have appropriate safety training.
- Responsible for computing and maintaining driver payroll, driver logs, trip sheets, fuel tax data and invoicing customers for services.
- Conduct driver meetings as needed.
- Resolve worker problems or collaborate with employees to assist in problem resolution.
- Monitor field work to ensure that it is being performed properly and that materials are being used as they should be.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are an expectation.
- Job assignments / hours are subject to change to meet business and customer demands.
Education and/or Experience
- Two years of related experience.
- Knowledge of transportation principles.
- Knowledge of providing customer service internally and externally.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, and training.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, filing and records management, and e-mail.
- Attention to detail – job requires being careful about detail and thorough on completing work tasks.
- Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected changes or modifications of daily work activity.
- Ability to perform multiple job duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to work in a team environment.
WORK HOURS/SHIFT
- 1st shift, 40 hours a week
- Hours to vary as needed
LOCATION
- Clinton
WAGE
- $18.00 – 20.00 based on experience level
SCREENING/TESTING REQUIREMENTS
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check
