Human Resource Generalist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resource Generalist to join our trucking/warehouse team. The HR Generalist will play a key role in managing various HR functions, with a strong focus on recruitment, benefits administration, and payroll. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of HR experience and be eager to grow into an HR Manager role within 1-2 years. This is an onsite position in a family-owned company that values teamwork and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Manage employee relations, addressing concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollment, claims resolution, and employee communication through EASE Central.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support performance management processes, including evaluations, goal setting, and employee development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including personnel files and HRIS databases.
- Assist in payroll processing using Paylocity, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Organize and conduct training and development programs for employees.
- Manage leave administration, including FMLA, PTO, and other leave policies.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting company culture and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of HR generalist or similar experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Paylocity, EASE Central, and Microsoft Business Suite, including Teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Previous experience in the trucking and warehousing industry is advantageous.
