Laboratory Technician
- Position Overview:
We have an immediate opening for a Laboratory Technician. This position is a straight day position and is salaried non-exempt.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the production of safe, high-quality products by testing and sampling all products to meet internal and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all assigned testing in accordance with defined laboratory procedures, test methods, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Perform physical and chemical tests on products and materials, including viscosity, pH, color (spectrophotometric absorption), and insoluble, accurately reading and interpreting specifications.
- Operate laboratory equipment and systems for accurate data recording (manual or computerized).
- Interpret test results based on internal product and customer specifications.
- Report any non-conforming materials or products to management.
- Perform calibration of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment when assigned and participate in internal audits when required.
- Ensure all laboratory safety protocols are followed.
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, reporting any policy violations.
- Undertake other tasks and projects assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficiency in operating electronic, mechanical, or manual laboratory equipment, adjusting controls for precise results.
- Competency in performing complex mathematical operations.
- Strong computer skills with accurate data entry capabilities.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) with or without reasonable accommodations.
- 1-3 years of relevant lab experience required.
- A B.S. in Food Science or a related scientific field is preferred but not required.
