Job Title: Experienced Litigation Paralegal

Reports to: Senior Litigation Attorney
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and be capable of working independently while supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, drafting, and filing of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial exhibits.
- Perform legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation cases.
- Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document review, production, and management of discovery databases.
- Prepare deposition summaries, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing evidence and exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and scheduling hearings or depositions.
- Manage case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is properly organized and updated.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court personnel as necessary.
- Assist with settlement negotiations and facilitate the preparation of settlement agreements.
- Prepare and organize trial exhibits and support attorneys during trial.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases.
- Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software (e.g., Clio, Relativity).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and clients.
- Solid understanding of state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing systems.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field (preferred).
Additional Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in preparing for trials, depositions, and hearings is highly preferred.
- A positive, professional attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
