About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a seasoned Pre-Construction Detailing and Take-Off Specialist with a solid foundation in the mechanical and plumbing sectors. The perfect candidate will have at least five years of experience with Trimble Scanning & Layout Tools and Revit based modeling and have expertise with Trimble MEP estimating products. This role is pivotal in ensuring precise, efficient, and detailed pre-construction planning, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
What You’ll Do
Pre-Construction Detailing:
· Create comprehensive 3D models using Revit for mechanical and plumbing systems.
· Work with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs are practical and align with project specifications.
· Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents to produce accurate models.
· Spot potential issues in the design phase and suggest solutions to mitigate risks.
Take-Offs and Estimating:
· Conduct detailed material take-offs using Trimble MEP estimating software for accurate cost estimations.
· Use Trimble Scanning & Layout Tools for precise measurement and estimation tasks.
· Prepare and review bid packages, ensuring all necessary components and labor are included in the estimates.
· Analyze project plans to identify and quantify material requirements, labor costs, and time frames.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams for seamless communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
· Participate in pre-construction meetings, providing insights and technical expertise to support project planning and execution.
· Assist in value engineering processes to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
· Ensure all detailing and take-off activities comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of all detailing and take-off work, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
· Conduct quality checks on models and estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
What You’ll Bring
Experience and Education:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-construction detailing and take-off, specifically in the mechanical and plumbing fields.
· Proven expertise in using Trimble for measurement and estimation tasks.
· Extensive experience with Revit for 3D modeling.
Technical Skills:
· Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, components, and installation methods.
· Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
· Advanced knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical and plumbing systems.
Soft Skills:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing effectively.
