Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cutting, punching, shearing, and slitting metal sheets, or metal strips by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The Plant Manager may assign other duties.
Supervising and coordinating the activities of shear operators, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support as needed.
Ensuring that shear operations are performed in accordance with established quality standards, including inspecting parts for defects.
Monitoring production schedules and adjusting staffing levels as needed to meet production targets.
Coordinating with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
Ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures, including conducting regular safety audits and providing training to staff as needed.
Monitoring and analyzing production data to identify opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Maintaining accurate records of production activity, including production rates, downtime, and materials usage.
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Unload incoming materials from trucks.
Receives and issues materials.
Weighs outgoing scrap and records amounts in log.
Ensure that all AS9100D and ISO13485 standard requirements are being followed
Performs activities of workers supervised.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, a shear supervisor in metal stamping must have strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of metal stamping processes and equipment. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities is also essential. A degree in engineering, business, or a related field may be required, as well as relevant experience in metal stamping or a related field. Additionally, experience in supervising and leading teams is highly desirable.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees and managers of TEMPCO.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be forklift and crane certifiable.
