TITLE: Preventative Maintenance Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform preventative maintenance using correct procedures and materials, tools and equipment in the Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC/R and Carpentry trades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years preventative maintenance on building systems with major emphasis on air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, plumbing, fire alarm, intercom and security systems (preferred)
- State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform planned maintenance, and regular servicing on a variety of building systems and equipment which may include but is not limited to air handling units, packaged type heat pump and air conditioning units, cooling towers, water heaters, plumbing fixtures, fire alarm, intercom lightning and security systems.
- Must be able to perform back flow assembly repairs and must document and maintain accurate records for maintenance and equipment repair.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks, be self-motivated, responsible and able to work alone.
- Maintain familiarity with working from diagrams, blueprints, plans and specifications and possess exceptional communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of procedures and proper use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance and servicing of building systems and equipment
- Knowledge of applicable safety practices
- Skill in maintaining and servicing a wide range of building systems and equipment
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Skill in documentation and recordkeeping as it relates to preventive maintenance program activities
- Ability to work from diagrams, blueprints, plans and specifications
- Ability to obtain district back flow assembly tester certification
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Dangerous machinery and hazardous chemicals
Exposure to extreme weather conditions
Restricted movement, dirty environment, intense noise
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds of materials
Must be able to climb to various heights and work in confined spaces
Must be able to drive District vehicle
