TITLE : Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION :
To develop fluent English-speaking ability and comprehension of academic English language through Structured Instructional strategies which are techniques that are used to make the concepts understandable for students whose first language is other than English. To foster respect and knowledge of the students' language and culture in listening, speaking, writing, reading, and multicultural instruction through Structured language methodology. Classroom will include English Language Learning students as well as Fluent English Proficient students.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Arizona Elementary Teacher certification with SEI, ESL, or Bilingual endorsement; or Arizona Secondary Teacher certification with English as an approved area and SEI, ESL, or Bilingual endorsement.
- Training in techniques for teaching a second language
- Previous teaching experience with pupils who come from environments where the language is other than English (preferred)
- Speaking ability in Spanish or other language(s) (preferred)
