TITLE : Manager - HVAC
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Directs, schedules and manages the maintenance repairs and construction activities of assigned
personnel in their skilled trade. Such as air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, ventilation and energy
management.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education and / or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years of journey level experience in related field, including three (3) years of supervisory experience in the same field.
- May require possession of or ability to obtain (within specified time) certifications such as scissor lift certification, asbestos certification, OSHA 10, and / or Type I / II Technician for proper refrigerant practices
- Valid Arizona Driver's License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide information to staff for the coordination, maintenance repairs and installation of HVAC equipment and components.Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff and makes recommendations for hire.Conducts routine on-site or project inspections to determine service needs and schedule adjustments.Communicates schedules and work load with staff.Conduct job site inspections of completed work to assure compliance with work order requests, established procedures, local, state and national codes.Supervise all activities of subordinates; maintains accurate time sheets and attendance records.Determines priorities, schedules and trains personnel in district policies, department procedures, regulations and trade guidelines in areas such as : safety regulations (OSHA), hazardous materials, EPA refrigerant handling procedures, central plants, package units, EMS and asbestos containing materials.Submit work requests; provide work order reports and supporting information for open and closed work orders.Order materials, supplies and equipment; keep up-to-date with new products and industry changes.Obtain quotes for repairs and installations, provide job cost estimates; submit purchase order requisitions and deliver materials and parts to job sites as needed.Manage project expenditures and ensure purchases are within financial guidelines. If necessary, recommend changes orders to cover projected expense overages.Manage yearly Maintenance & Operations budget and yearly bond expenditures.Develop and maintain a Department Management Plan that includes records for such items as work hours, supplies, materials needed, scheduled activities and rental equipment.Manage safety issues District-wide, responds to emergency and health related situations.Interface and coordinate work with various contractors, consultants, vendors, governmental, and non-governmental agencies and organizations regarding the proper installation of various projects.Attend meetings and conduct campus inspectionsUse District vehicle for travel to sites where presence is required.Assist FMFL supervisor on planning and problem solving.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS :
