Position Overview
The Night/Weekend Hospitality and Event Assistant is a key member of our team, responsible for staffing our reception area, supporting religious services, and coordinating logistics for events and programs on evenings and weekends. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll ensure that our building is welcoming, operationally prepared, and that members and guests are cared for with professionalism and kindness. Key Responsibilities
- Hospitality: Serve as the welcoming face of Temple Beth El during Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and occasional weeknights.
- Event Logistics: Assist with the setup and execution of events, including coordinating room setups, A/V systems, lighting, and facility readiness.
- Member and Guest Support: Greet and assist members and visitors, ensuring their needs are met and questions are answered promptly.
- Facility Operations: Partner with maintenance staff to ensure spaces are clean, set up, and well-prepared for services, programs, and rentals.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage inquiries about private event bookings, utilize our calendar system, and assist with program registration and check-in.
- Procedure Execution: Follow opening/closing, emergency, and other operational procedures accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in administrative, hospitality, or guest service roles, preferred.
- Availability to work Friday afternoons/evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and occasional weeknights.
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions or a willingness to learn.

- Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods, and operate A/V equipment.
