About Temple Emanuel Early Childhood Center:
Temple Emanuel Early Childhood Center (TEECC) is a constructivist education program, inspired by the preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and our reform Jewish context. We seek to foster a spirit of community where children, families, and educators feel a strong sense of partnership and belonging. By building strong relationships within our community we believe children are given the support they need to explore, create, and research theories about the world around them; to learn and develop in joyful and meaningful ways.
TEECC educators co-teach in an environment that honors our culture of dialogue and research based on the image of the child as curious, competent, and capable of co-constructing knowledge. Temple Emanuel ECC Educators:
- Create and maintain aesthetically beautiful learning environments that are rich with opportunities for children to engage in research and exploration
- Think creatively and engage in the many forms of expression used in the classroom.
- Develop meaningful relationships with our community of children, families, and staff.
- Have unique interests and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience.
- Exhibit proficiency in the use of digital media as a tool for provoking children’s learning and classroom documentation.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Value and participate in the life of our school and greater Temple Emanuel community
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- 90 hour Certificate in Early Childhood Curriculum & Development OR 4-year degree in Education or related field, preferred
- Experience working with young children
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and desire to grow as an educator
- A collaborative spirit
- Physical ability to ensure the safety and care of children, including, but not limited to, lifting (up to 40 lbs), carrying, and chasing children
Compensation:
- Starting at $23 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
- Contribution to health, dental, and vision insurance
- Temple membership; Discounted ECC & Religious School Tuition
- 120 hours paid leave, plus additional paid holidays
