What are the responsibilities and job description for the NURSE NAVIGATOR-Nurse Navigation-Ambulatory- 40HR Day Shift (8:30AM-5PM)-FCCC position at Temple Health – Temple University Health System?
The Nurse Navigator functions to provide access to quality care for cancer patients/families. This is accomplished through expert oncology nursing practice in the areas of care giving, coordination, consultation, education and research (ONS Position Statement on Quality Care, 2007). The Nurse Navigator, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team assists patients along the continuum of care from abnormal findings, diagnosis and through survivorship. The navigator will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in oncology care management while also providing guidance to the patient related to scheduling appointments, removing access related barriers including insurance and transportation, and answering clinical care related question
Education
Bachelors Degree : Nursing (Required)
Masters Degree : Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
5 Years experience in nursing with 2 years in oncology nursing (Required)
1 Year experience as an oncology nurse case manager or patient navigator (Preferred)
License/Certifications
RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
OCN - OCN - Oncology Cert Nurse (Preferred)
