What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Director position at Temple Tiferet Shalom?
The Preschool at Temple Tiferet Shalom seeks a Director for the 2025-2026 school year, which includes Preschool from September through June, and the TTS Summertime Fun program during July and August. The Director 1- or 2-certified applicant should be warm, collegial, flexible, and dedicated to following all standard and EEC regulations. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are necessary, as is a great love of young children. Experience should include supervising multiple individuals and leading/taking charge in a variety of situations. The Director will support children, parents, and staff, offering daily help as needed while maintaining the integrity of the school. Knowledge of Jewish holidays, symbols, and culture are an asset that will assist the Director in supporting a curriculum that celebrates Judaism in age- and developmentally-appropriate ways.
● The position of Director is a part-time position of approximately 35 hours per week. It can be more or less at times. (e.g., the first week of school, parent conference week, weeks with holidays, etc.)
● Daily time in the office vs. time in the classrooms is roughly 70/30.
● The Director is required to be onsite each day.
● The Director must be first aid and CPR certified.
● The director will have strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Education.
