Major Duties and Responsibilities

Operating a vehicle that transports passengers to and from medical appointments

· Offering comfort and support to patients and their families.

· Transporting medical equipment, supplies and laboratory specimens to designated treatment, diagnostic and patient care areas.

· Communicating with nurses.

· Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

· Meets general health requirements according to facility policy, including medical and physical exams and checking immunity status to various infectious diseases.

· Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.

· May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors or personnel.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to exercise judgement.

· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

Duties

• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
• Communicate effectively with passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes in travel plans.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Handle heavy lifting when necessary for loading and unloading cargo or assisting passengers with their belongings.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur during transport.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries or concerns promptly.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on duty.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with passengers.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading tasks.
• Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns is a plus.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policy.
