Immediate opening for a Legal Administrative Assistant to work for a well-established law office in Presque Isle. Excellent daytime schedule; health insurance, PTO and retirement account available. Great opportunity for a highly organized individual with strong communication skills. Full-time/Days; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday; $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
The Legal Administrative Assistant will support the office’s attorneys and staff by performing a range of administrative duties. The employee will organize correspondence, prepare and proofread documents, update and organize files, and maintain a detailed calendar of appointments and project deadlines. Minimum of 2-3 years administrative experience required. Prior experience working in a legal office or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, take notes and messages, coordinate appointments, and redirect calls to appropriate parties as needed.
- Keep accurate records of contact details.
- Correspond with clients, financial providers, and attorneys from other law firms in a clear and professional manner.
- Coordinate multiple agendas and provide office staff with timely reminders to ensure that all projects are on track to meet required deadlines.
- Organize files and documents by inputting information into practice management software.
- Assist with the preparation of various legal documents, including but not limited to: wills, trusts, power of attorney, probate arrangements, and real estate closings.
- Proofread and edit documents for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors. Finalize and distribute to relevant parties.
- Obtain information and feedback as needed; prepare and compile closing statements.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required. Paralegal training or related post-secondary education highly valued.
- Two or more years of experience working in an administrative role.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, working knowledge of common office equipment, and ability to type 60 WPM.
- Strong organizational skills and good attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be familiar with common legal terminology and syntax.
Schedule: Full-Time/Days; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
