Job Overview
A transformative veterinary hospital is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Executive Medical Director to lead their brand-new, state of the art veterinary hospital located in the vibrant neighborhood of Culver City. This unique role offers the opportunity to shape medical culture, drive exceptional standards of care, and build practices from the ground up.
The Executive Medical Director will serve as the key leader, working in partnership with the Hospital Manager to oversee the growth and management of the practice. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role includes practicing veterinary care and mentoring the veterinary team. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial and visionary leader with a passion for delivering elevated care to patients and their caregivers.
The hospital is designed to offer a superior client and staff experience, featuring a spacious and welcoming lobby, urgent care triage area, dental suite, surgery suite with two tables in each, doctor’s offices, and a comfortable break room for staff. The hospital is nearly 4000sq.ft.
The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and developing DVM staff, supporting the Hospital Manager in recruitment, hiring, and training, and fostering an environment of resilience and responsibility. Other key duties include participating in leadership meetings, driving hospital standards of care, executing strategic plans to meet growth and financial goals, and creating hospital-specific operating procedures.
This role also involves engaging with staff and clients in a friendly, approachable manner, championing organizational initiatives, and providing constructive feedback to improve hospital operations. Leadership training and participation in ongoing development are integral to this position, ensuring the hospitals maintain a culture of excellence and innovation.
This position requires a minimum of 6 years DVM experience and the ability and willingness to see Urgent Care cases.
