SUMMARY: We are seeking a service driven individual to join our Team. The Maintenance and Shop Helper will be responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of our facility. This position also entails pickup and delivery of emergency service vehicles to and from customer facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Wash and detail trucks and other vehicles, weekly, including company vehicles. Wax on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the organization and cleaning of the shop area and exterior grounds.
- Responsible for all grounds and building maintenance, including but not limited to emptying trash, cleaning shop bathrooms, yard mowing, weeding and maintenance of the irrigation system.
- Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness of the warehouse area.
- Deliver and pick up supplies, parts and equipment as needed.
- Safely drive emergency response vehicles (fire trucks and ambulance) both locally and long-distance.
- Assist with Shipping and Receiving, when requested by management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Must be flexible to work independently on a variety of assigned tasks as well as to accept direction given on assignments.
- Must have prior maintenance experience.
- Must have a clean record.
- CDL Required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Ability to effectively and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Ability to work from oral and written instructions. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variances in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
MEDIUM WORK: Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
WORK POSITION: Driving 20%, standing 40% and walking 40%
WORK CONDITIONS: Spends approximately 50% of the time in equal amounts both indoors and outdoors.
