Ten Lives Club is a 501c3 cat shelter in Western New York with 18 additional adoption locations. We have two full-time vets. Our location cares for strays and surrenders as well as offering a community clinic for reasonable cost spays, neuters, and other veterinary care.
Ten Lives Club has an opening for an Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator to work with the existing marketing team, our Executive Director and Founder, President of the Board, and our Director of Operations to promote events, cat adoptions, and raise money for our organization. This candidate would also be responsible for website administration and social media updates.
Job Specifics:
- Full Time Position 37 hours
- Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour commensurate with experience..
- Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10:00am to 6:00pm
- Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm
- Saturday, 10:00am to 4:00pm
- If you are asked to assist on a weekend day, and can do so, you will be given a additional day off during the week.

Responsibilities
- Primary coordination of social media
- Make sure there is multiple posts each day on Facebook
- Take photos and keep track of all the cats that come into the program and take photo of all adoptions to do a weekly recap post on Saturdays
- Administration of several private groups
- Maintain and update website
- Write press releases weekly to send to news, radio, and TV stations
- TV interview- as needed
- Do weekly email Blasts
- Assisting with greeting customers that come into the shelter in a friendly manner, taking donations, thanking the customers, taking pictures, and sharing those pictures
- Writing personalized thank you cards
- Creating content for printed newsletters sent out 8 times a year
- Recruiting sponsors for events and asking for donation requests
- In charge of smaller raffles such as online theme basket raffles, online silent auctions, cat tree raffles, football pool squares and much more
- Assisting with content development for emails, outreach and collateral materials
- Coordinate and execute national day of giving, “Giving Tuesday”
Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience working in a non-profit environment a plus, but not required.
- Demonstrates personal accountability to ensure that all responsibilities are completed effectively and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates approachability when dealing with the general public. Experience in interacting with the general public (customer service) preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to create and encourage a positive work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, i.e., ability to develop positive relationships with others and demonstrate sensitivity to the thoughts, feelings and perspectives of others.
- Accurate, appropriate, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Strong listening skills.
- Experience with or ability to learn basic Microsoft products including e-mail and timekeeping.
- Knowledge of Shelterluv a plus, but not required.
- Must want to work to further your own learning by asking questions and doing personal research.
