LOCATION: Bay City, TX
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
Entity/Department: Tenaris Bay City, Inc.
Location: Bay City, TX (May work from home on a hybrid schedule certain days of the week within Bay City and surrounding areas)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop basic and detailed engineering activities for automation projects for the region in an autonomous way, from the initial technical proposal and automation software development to the final implementation.
- Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance staff on the use and troubleshooting of automation systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with the global team to maintain and improve standard software.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to analyze and optimize the performance, quality, and safety of automated processes and equipment: prioritize improvement activities with highest business value, generate failure analysis for defects/issues detected in the automation systems, and lead action plans to fix them.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions for automation projects and propose recommendations for adoption or improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Tenaris policies, procedures, and standards, as well as local and international regulations and codes for automation systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of automation products and services.
- Responsible for commissioning/startup and to participate in projects in different locations/facilities in USA.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a related occupation working in a Manufacturing facility in computer programming for shop floor systems performing each of the following: integration with equipment, PLC, and other 3rd party systems using C#, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft NET remoting technology; integration with equipment, PLC, and other 3rd party systems using Microsoft WPF for desktop application development with MVVM pattern or web development with MVC pattern.
Special Requirement: Up to 15% domestic and 2% international travel required to Tenaris sites.
