MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manages the production process of four Tenaris laboratories: Chemical Lab, Mechanical Testing lab, Metallurgical Lab and Metrology Lab.
- Analyzes the techniques and all the Tenaris systems such as spectrometry and gas analyzers, tensile test machine, Charpy machine, hardness Rockwell, Computer numerical control (CNC machine), microscopes, metallography preparation and failure analysis, among other lab equipment.
- Manages SAP, IDM, IAM, TSE, Minitab, P-BI, etc. to ensure that the established quality objectives are complied.
- Exercises discretion over the day-to-day operations of the four Tenaris Laboratories.
- Coordinates the laboratory processes under his scope.
- Ensures that the laboratory has all necessary resources such as Equipment, IT tools, qualified personnel, and the applicable documentation (standards or internal documents) to perform required activity.
- Coordinates the process to ensure the adequacy and availability of specimens/testing results in a timely manner as well as the internal product release related to laboratory test results.
- Coordinates the Certification of material for release to customers.
- Verifies the development and application of safety standards in the laboratories.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards and ensure adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the laboratory.
- Participates in HSE objectives setting, define and implement programs and actions applicable to the laboratory.
- Participates in audit process: quality and compliance auditing, internal and external customers audits.
- Develops documents and best practices for lab processes control.
- Optimizes testing methods of metallic materials.
- Must be available on weekends and at night for urgent material release.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Two (2) years of experience in a related occupation performing each of the following: lab testing techniques including LECO (Oxygen, Sulfur, Carbon, and Nitrogen), Spectrometry of Emission, X-Ray Spectrometry for steel, slags, and ferroalloy analysis. Experience must include at least one (1) year of experience in the Quality Assurance or Quality control area of a steelmaking facility.
