JOB OVERVIEW:
The Vice President of Logistics will oversee and optimize the logistics operations of TenCate Grass US. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective distribution of our products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Warehouse Management: Oversee the operations of five warehouses, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound logistics processes.
- Logistics Function Management: Direct all aspects of the logistics function from control, delivery, and distribution of products and materials to and from the destination.
- Strategy Execution: Lead the overall execution of strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized network and operations.
- Inventory and Distribution: Oversee critical inventory, distribution, and transportation functions that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPIs for product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Governance and Quality Auditing: Establish governance and quality auditing processes to monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Analytics Utilization: Utilize analytics to monitor and measure logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team to foster a high-performance culture and ensure continuous improvement.
- Budget Management: Oversee the logistics budget, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all logistics operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and develop risk management strategies to handle potential disruptions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management or related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful logistics strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with logistics software and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
