Home Health Aid Job Statement:
The HHA shall have training in those supportive services which are required to provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort and to assist the patient toward independent living in a safe environment. The HHA shall pass the written state test and clinical skills check-off. The HHA must also maintain current certification with the state board. The HHA must complete state required yearly in-service training hours to remain in good standing with Tendercare Home Health Services.
The duties of a home health aide include: the provision of hands-on personal care, the performance of simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assistance in ambulation or exercises that are outlined in an RN-directed home health aide care plan.

Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain records of personal health care activities.
- Maintain patient care areas in a clean, safe environment, adequate for the provision of care.
- Provide assistance in administering medications ordinarily self-administered (by the patient).
- Follow and document assignments in accordance with the home health aide care plan.
- Transfer patients in a safe manner, in accordance with standards of care.
- Report changes the patient's condition to RN or other appropriate skilled professionals.
- Electronically document care given during each visit/shift.
- Participate in continuing education as required.
Qualifications Include:
- Licensed and registered.
- CPR certified.
- Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, pass a fit to work physical, and be free of communicable diseases.
