What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weddings and Events Assistant position at TeNeil Hartley Events?
TeNeil Hartley Events is a boutique wedding and event planning company looking for a dynamic wedding and events assistant. While we are located in gorgeous Grand Lake, CO and we plan weddings and events in mountain communities across the state as well as the Denver area. The assistant will learn the ins and outs of on-site event management to ensure well-run events during the busy event season, mainly June – October. In addition, the candidate will play a key role in maintaining client and vendor relationships during events, which are at the heart of our business. This is a part-time, weekend position. The right candidate could make this a more robust, year round part-time position if they are willing to do clerical/office work. Please inquire if you are interested in this option.
About You
You love making someone's day and are ready and willing to do what it takes to make sure every detail is perfect! You're also SUPER detail oriented, take direction well, are comfortable around people, and able to make decisions on the fly.
The ideal candidate is willing to drive to Denver and all mountain communities to and from events.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ability to stay calm and positive under pressure
- Familiarize yourself with the event details and timeline before each event
- Assist with setup of décor items
- Be available for questions from vendors, guests, and event VIPs
- Take initiative to multitask, solve problems as they arise, and prioritize next steps
- Provide excellent customer service to clients: friendly and professional and looking for opportunities to go the extra mile.
Required Qualifications:
- A driver’s license and your own vehicle to drive to and from events
- Ability to work on your feet for 10 hours at a time, indoor or outdoor
- Be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Professional interest in wedding and event planning
- Able to work independently, provide excellent service and present professional image
- Reliable, arriving as scheduled
· Ability to work a flexible schedule and be available weekends from June through October
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience in the weddings, event, or service industries
Compensation
Candidate will be paid as an employee, NOT a contractor. Pay is $18-$23 per hour based on experience.
