Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our team at Tenet Health. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing venipuncture and collecting laboratory specimens, as well as CLIA waived laboratory tests.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine technical and clerical functions associated with laboratory specimen collection and processing
- Collect blood and other bodily fluids from patients for laboratory testing
- Prepare and distribute laboratory specimens to the appropriate testing areas
- Perform CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested by healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- One year of experience in clinical laboratory settings, preferably in phlebotomy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to medical specimens and potentially hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
