Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients by planning and implementing milieu treatment, considering patient needs and therapeutic goals.
- Work collaboratively with Charge Nurses and other unit staff to assess and evaluate patient mental status, participate in milieu therapy, and lead or assist in milieu groups.
- Document all appropriate information on patient charts, preparing regular reports describing each patient's mental status and functioning, as well as significant interactions.
- Collaborate with other staff members to determine whether a patient represents a risk to himself/herself and/or others, working with representatives of outside agencies in obtaining or disseminating information on individual patients.
A Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field is preferred, with BLS certification required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role, working effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
