About the Opportunity
The Pschiatric Nurse will facilitate and provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and/or child patients by planning and implementing milieu treatment, considering patient needs and therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Lead or assist in milieu groups, ensuring appropriate participation by patients, and incorporating knowledge of each patient's condition and application of various therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with other unit staff to assess and evaluate patient mental status, initiate and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients, and coordinate various aspects of the milieu environment.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of each patient's mental status and functioning.
- Work closely with family members and significant others to educate them about the patient's status and provide support during the care process.
