The Role

As a Software Engineer focusing on Advanced Capabilities, you will develop new solutions for our customers and the MeTRA Platform. Your projects will vary, including areas like Software Analysis, Graph Neural Networks, Generative AI, and Maintenance Record Parsing. Regardless of the project, your responsibilities will include :

  • Building local development and cloud environments for research and proof-of-concept work.
  • Collaborating with the MeTRA Engineering team to design and implement plans for maturing proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Transitioning proof-of-concept solutions into deployable capabilities, including creating CI pipelines, writing Infrastructure as Code, and building Docker images.
  • Delivering customized capabilities to government customers based on service requests.
  • Designing and developing scalable web applications using various programming languages and frameworks.
  • Collaborating with product managers and designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implementing RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between different software components.
  • Utilizing cloud services such as AWS and Azure for application deployment and management.
  • Writing clean, maintainable code in languages including C#, Python, and C.
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.

  • Skills and Qualifications

  • Security Clearance : Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
  • Technical Expertise : 3 years of experience in Python and AWS development (experience in other languages is also considered).
  • API Proficiency : Skilled in designing, creating, and working with APIs, particularly using the Django Rest Framework.
  • Deployment Lifecycle Knowledge : Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS.
  • Solid Fundamentals : Strong understanding of computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
  • Effective Communication : Ability to clearly convey design processes, ideas, and solutions to peers and stakeholders.
  • Proven Experience : Demonstrated experience in web development with a strong understanding of application development principles.
  • Cloud Platforms : Familiarity with AWS or Azure for application deployment and management.
  • Programming Languages : Proficiency in C#, Python, and C; experience with RESTful services is a plus.
  • Education

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
