SUMMARY:

The Principal Talent Development Specialist is an integral member of the Global HR Team and will be responsible for Tennant company's listening strategy, performance management, leadership development programs, employee development tools, and leading efforts that enhance continuous learning. The Principal Talent Development Specialist will assess development needs, identify objectives, design tools, deliver solutions, and evaluate outcomes that facilitate professional development, leadership, and continuous learning for Tennant Company's global workforce. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Talent Development and will engage with multiple functions within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate individual and organizational development needs to design, develop, and cultivate global leadership and employee professional development content based on various learning approaches: blended learning, embedded on-the-job learning, social / collaborative learning, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Establish partnerships and alliances with various institutions/vendors to implement effective development programs.
  • Develop and implement tools to measure the effectiveness of leadership and employee development programs.
  • Responsible for the Tennant Listening strategy which includes vendor management, messaging, semi-annual enterprise engagement measurements & insights, onboarding, exit, and partnering with the business on other ad hoc survey requests.
  • Responsible for the Global Tennant performance management strategy including philosophy, process, and tools for feedback and calibration.
  • Responsible for the Tennant Talent Framework and tools.
  • Partnership with the Director of DE&I on deployment of employee and leader education and feedback tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline or experience commensurate with degree program.
  • 5-8 years learning and development experience, including hands on experience in training, curriculum creation, and organizational development, preferably in a global environment.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (especially, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using e-learning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Audacity, Camtasia, Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Curiosity to explore, implement, and integrate new approaches and technologies.
  • Demonstrated adult learning techniques and facilitation skills.
  • Overall aptitude for learning emerging technologies quickly and providing support for system users.
  • Self-directed learner who seeks opportunities to develop additional skills. Independently and proficiently applies occupational knowledge and skills. Remains current with trends in profession. Leads and guides others to develop new skills or knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with strong project management skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with talent review processes at a senior leadership level- succession planning, talent assessment, risk review, and development planning
  • Experience in implementing organizational design best practices and/or strategic workforce planning
  • Experience working in a global organization managing talent management tools and resources from a global perspective
  • Ability to delegate work cross-functionally to HR teams with clearly defined roles/responsibilities, deadlines, and change management plans

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $90,200 - 135,200 Annualized
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
