Provide technical analysis to the plant regarding weld integrity. Provide technical support to automated manufacturing process and robots. Provide technical support to Met Lab (or other areas of the plant as required) in the assessment, implementation and maintenance of Quality systems that meet or exceed customer and ISO/TS16949 standards. Participate in formal problem solving activities. Ensure product quality through statistical practices to maintain and improve welding (or other manufacturing) process controls. Must be able to work well with all plant disciplines, customers, and suppliers. Individual needs to be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well with others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical analysis to the plant regarding weld integrity. Seek outside vendor support as needed.
- Ability to program/repair/troubleshoot manufacturing robotic units.
- Conduct statistical analysis on product welding or other process capabilities. Review production boards and collected data to help minimize weld rework (FTT & SAP) to reduce the plant overall DPM.
- Provide support, knowledge and training of Litchfield’s Quality Systems to plant personnel.
- Interface with external customers to coordinate actions on failure issues on parts and services.
- Interface with process engineering and manufacturing new product/process launches.
- Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outline in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
- Operate within the ISO14001 Environmental policy guidelines.
- Seek additional training in areas of weakness to better their production supporting roll.
- Operate various pieces of equipment assisting in the trouble shooting to ensure correct operating.
- Participate in the PPAP, process and PSW runs.
- Develop, maintain, and improve documents in accordance with TS 16949.
- Provide technical knowledge to production areas as well as all support departments.
- Submit TA EH&S policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Perform cuts and etches on welded parts for the Quality Met Lab
Qualifications
- Must be a certified welder.
- Ability to troubleshoot and operate robots.
- Complete the “train the trainer classes”.
- Basic Reading, Comprehension and Math skills.
- Good Organizational and Computer skills.
- Experience with ISO/TS16949 (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans)
- Knowledge of SPC, DOE, GD&T, blueprint reading
- Understanding of the BOS methodology
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to approve qualified and certified welders. Must be able to test and train Qualified Welders
- Must be able to obtain Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Must be able to work at the customer’s or supplier’s facility as needed.
- Must be able to change work pace as needed in response to customer or plant needs.
- Must be able to stagger breaks and lunches around production needs and work any shift.

- Enhance one’s own knowledge base by taking classes and or attending training as set by Tenneco requirements.
- KCC Industrial Welding – Identified classes.
- Robotic (Kuka, Motoman & Panasonic) – Programming, Maintenance & Trouble shooting.
- Welding Power Supply (Miller & Fronius) - Programming, Maintenance & Trouble shooting.
- Melton - Programming, Maintenance & Trouble shooting.
- Thermal Dyne - Programming, Maintenance & Trouble shooting.
- JT Snow - Resistance welding (Spot/projection)
- Lincoln Electric/Hobart Welding – certified welding inspection – 2-week class
- Certified Welding Exam – optional and with approval of management.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates will be considered eligible by meeting the following minimum requirements:
- Achieving Acceptable Attendance Performance:
- Minimum of 16 attendance hours
- No more than 4 attendance occurrences for a twelve-month period
- Achieving Acceptable Employability skills:
- No warning notices for 90 days
- Performance Improvement Plans closed for 90 days.
- Complete a position as set-up for more than 6 months with bender experience.
- Complete the “train the trainer classes”.
